Kandi Burruss may be on the road touring with the rest of Xscape, but not for too much longer. She’s already got something else up her sleeve for 2018...and it's big!

It’s been announced that the singer is headed to Broadway, joining the cast of Chicago in January for eight weeks! For her Broadway debut, Kandi will star as Matron “Mama” Morton from Jan. 15 to March 11 at the Ambassador Theater in NYC. She expressed her excitement to her followers on Instagram:

Kandi alluded to the new role while appearing with the rest of Xscape with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. Of course, by then, reports were circulating that, though Xscape was recording new music, Kandi wasn’t going to be doing anything else with them after this tour was up. When Andy asked why, Kandi let it be known that she was BOOKED, y’all, and would be headed to Broadway, though she didn’t reveal which show.

Between the busy rehearsal schedule with this show, her Bedroom Kandi sex toy line, songwriting, and everything else Kandi does, she doesn’t have much time to focus on continuing with the group.

A lot of fans congratulated Kandi online for getting the new gig:

It’s definitely a major deal as Kandi continues to expand her empire. Say what you want about her, but you can’t say she’s not out here getting these coins! Looking forward to seeing what she brings to the table as the iconic Mama Morton.
