President Barack Obama delivered his farewell address last night and it's safe to say he brought the house down. Obama's speech to his wife, Michelle Obama, or in his words, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson, was one of the more notable moments from his speech. He referred to her as the "Girl of the Southside" and his "best friend." We're not crying, you're crying!
"Michelle – for the past 25 years, you’ve been not only my wife and mother of my children, but my best friend," Obama said as he and Michelle held back tears. "You took on a role you didn’t ask for and made it your own with grace and grit and style and good humor. You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody. And a new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model. You’ve made me proud. You’ve made the country proud."
Michelle then responded with a heartfelt Instagram post:
The first black First Family: No scandals or controversy. Just pure love, family, and class. We're going to miss Barack and Michelle more than we can even fathom.
