Could this possibly a good idea? Sure. Does Twitter think it should happen? Hell no.
TLC member Rozonda Thomas, a.k.a. Chilli, just said she wants to do a collaboration with Taylor Swift and, well, fans aren’t stoked on that at all.
So what happened was, Chilli did an interview and said she loved T-Swift. “I like [her] a lot. She has really fun, catchy songs. It’s so funny, I always say any guy that’s gonna date her, just be careful, because if it doesn’t work out, they know by now the next single is gonna be about them! I love how real she is. I really respect her a lot as an artist.”
Alright, no one's arguing that Swift doesn’t put out “catchy” songs. And artists are, within reason, allowed to like whatever other artists they like. But Chilli may have taken it a step to far with this next line:
“I would love [to collab with Swift] because she would cover ‘Unpretty’ on her tours sometimes. We really need to make that happen -- put her right there in the middle, playing the guitar, and we can harmonize away. I think that would be awesome if that ever happened. Let’s do it!”
To reiterate, liking a country/pop superstar is one thing. To say you want to play with her, not so much. TLC fans have been raking Chilli over the coals hard since she dropped that line:
Could this collab work? Sure. Should it? The internet says absolutely, positively NO.
